Amlactin Lotion Overview
Ingredients
- Water (Aqua): Good old water, aka H2O. The most common skincare ingredient of all. It’s mainly a solvent for ingredients that do not like to dissolve in oils but rather in water.
- Ammonium Lactate: A combination of lactic acid and ammonium hydroxide. It is a moisturizer that helps to soften and hydrate the skin.
- Mineral Oil: A clear oily liquid that is the "cheap by-product" of refining crude oil. It is a very controversial ingredient with pros and cons and plenty of myths around it.
- Glycerin: A natural moisturizer that’s also in our skin. It helps to keep the skin lipids between our skin cells in a healthy (liquid crystal) state, protects against irritation, and helps to restore barrier.
- Dimethicone: An emollient that makes the skin nice and smooth. It has very good spreading properties and gives a silky touch to the products.
- Steareth-21: An emulsifying agent that helps to mix oil and water together.
- Glyceryl Stearate SE: An emulsifying agent that helps to mix oil and water together.
- Steareth-2: An emulsifying agent that helps to mix oil and water together.
- Stearyl Alcohol: An emollient that helps to moisturize and soften the skin.
- Xanthan Gum: A thickening agent that helps to create a gel-like consistency.
- Potassium Sorbate: A preservative that helps to prevent the growth of bacteria and mold.

Additional Information
- The lotion is available in various sizes and can be purchased online or in-store.
- It is recommended to apply the lotion as directed on the label or by your doctor.
- If you are using this product to help treat diaper rash, clean the diaper area well before use and allow the area to dry before applying the product.
- If you are using this product to help treat radiation skin burns, check with radiation personnel to see if your brand can be applied before radiation therapy.
- Follow all the directions on the label for proper use. Apply to the skin only. Avoid sensitive areas such as your eyes, inside your mouth/nose, and the vaginal/groin area, unless the label or your doctor directs you otherwise.
- Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. Most moisturizers need water to work well. Apply the product after bathing/showering while the skin is still damp. For very dry skin, your doctor may instruct you to soak the area before using the product. Long, hot, or frequent bathing/washing can worsen dry skin.
